Job Summary:


Plan and perform a variety of payroll and accounting functions in accordance with standard practices, procedures and collective agreement language.


Primary Duties and Responsibilities:


  1. Perform routine time card processing duties; check and verify hours, shift and coded information for each employee, keying and transmitting time card information to Corporate Payroll Department for payroll processing.
  2. Investigate errors and make corrections for the departments.
  3. Serve as key Administrator for the Kronos time/attendance system as part of the payroll function.
  4. Compute and input all manual accruals for end-of-month general ledger entry.
  5. Assist controller in preparation of end-of-month and annual reports.
  6. Track and process vacation and employee absences.


Additional Responsibilities:


  1. Assist in preparation and input of division budgets and forecasts as guided by the Plant Controller.
  2. Assist in yearly budget preparation.
  3. Provide assistance with administrative tasks as needed.

Job Qualifications:


  • Associates Degree preferred with Business or Accounting emphasis.
  • Prior experience in processing payroll (union environment preferred).
  • SAP and Kronos system experience preferred.
  • Strong working knowledge of Excel and other operating systems.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with departments and exercise critical thinking and problem solving skills.
  • Efficiency and ability to work under critical deadlines.
