Reporting to the Maintenance Facilitators, this position's main focus will be to inspect, repair, replace, install, adjust and maintain mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic equipment.



• Receives instructions covering the scheduled and emergency repairs, installation and inspection work to be done.

• Inspects equipment for defects such as leaks, cracks, corrosion and improper operation.

• Determines the best way of making repairs to minimize interruption of production.

• Advises when immediate shut down of equipment is necessary to minimize damage or when temporary continued operation would have no harmful effect.

• Trouble shoots and repairs screwed and flanged, piped pressurized fluid, water cooling, and fuel gas systems and related equipment.

• Troubleshoots and repairs outlined systems to level of Ontario G1 certificate.

• Changes, sets up and adjusts equipment as required by current operating conditions.

• Interprets drawings and sketches.

• Dismantles, cleans repairs, replaces, installs, maintains, assembles, and lubricates trade related equipment.

• Operates simple machine tools such as drill press, 20 ton press, pipe threading machine and power saw.

• Crane and tow motor operation including rigging

• Operate Mobile Equipment (Zoomboom, Scissorlift etc) as required



High school Diploma or GED. 
Time served steam pipefitter, can be used as a substitute for a HS Diploma or GED.
G1 Certificate of Qualification
Minimum of 5 years of related experience
