JOB OVERVIEW:

The Scale Clerk will perform various duties pertaining primarily to the receiving, weighing, monitoring, and recordkeeping associated with inbound and outbound trucks. Follow established protocol related to scrap and shipping responsibilities.

  • Customer Service, interact with drivers as the face of the company via telephone and in person.

  • Work involves simple tasks, highly repetitive in nature requiring attention to detail to prevent clerical errors and to ensure that all protocols are followed regarding processing inbound and outbound trucks, using the electronic scale.

  • Act as weighmaster for all inbound and outbound trucks, trailers, etc.

  • Maintain all computer records, truck weights, arrival and departure times, waybills, bills of lading, contract numbers of scrap, and miscellaneous records pertaining to inbound and outbound trucks.

  • Refer appropriate personnel when discrepancies exist between actual truck weight and the weight listed on the bill of lading to ensure truck is not overloaded or underloaded.

  • Maintain records, follow prescribed protocol, and prepare reports for incoming loads of scrap.

  • Assist Warehouse Supervisor/Warehousemen with any load issues.

  • Other duties as assigned.

WHAT YOU HAVE TO OFFER:
  • Must be able to work well independently with minimal supervision.

  • Must be able to work both day and afternoon shifts on a rotational schedule (7:30 A.M. to 3:30 P.M. & 3:30 P.M. to 11:30 P.M.).

  • Excellent computer skills, especially Microsoft Excel.

  • Knowledge of SAP is an asset.

  • Problem solving.

  • Bilingual (French) is an asset.

  • Good communication skills.
