Job Description:

Validate product quality data and lab results and provide valuable information with regards to the manufacturing quality of Gerdau's steel. You will audit product testing and inspections for chemical analysis and product traceability and report defects or off specification results and report findings to the management team.


Job Duties:

  • Maintain test equipment to ensure continual operation.
  • Review test results to report on Certified Test Report.
  • Prepare samples for x-ray and macro etching.
  • Coordinate trials for new products and process
  • Observe and follow all general and departmental safety rules and regulations.
  • Support production on product disposition.
  • Maintain equipment, housekeeping, and apply 5S methodology in the area.



  • High School Diploma or GED
  • A minimum of two years of steel mill or related quality control experience or specific training on metallurgy or steel production
  • Experience with MS Office and SAP preferred
  • Prefer sensitive technical instruments experience
  • Knowledge of all applicable Federal, Province, and Local environmental legal requirements and practices
  • Ability to work a rotating schedule including days, afternoons, nights and weekends.
