What You Will Do

  • Read and interpret blueprints or welding process specifications
  • Layout, cut, and form metal to specification
  • Repair worn parts of metal products by welding on extra layers
  • Fit sub-assemblies and assemblies together for welding
  • Operate manual or semi-automatic welding equipment to fuse metal segments using processes such as gas metal arc (GMAW), flux-cored arc (FCAW), shielded metal arc (SMAW)
  • Operate manual or semi-automatic flame cutting equipment (torching)

 

Education/Experience

  • High school Diploma or GED.
  • The successful applicant will be able to provide:
  • Proof of not less than five years of employment experience as a welder/fitter,
  • Be able to demonstrate the ability to utilize the equipment required to successfully complete the applicable Canadian Welding Bureau test, FCAW all position and SMAW all position
  • Any additional qualification or processes would be an asset

 

 

 Additional Information

  • Background, education, and criminal record checks will be performed.
  • All successful candidates must pass a post-offer medical and ergonomic assessment.
  • Must be able to work rotating shifts
