You Have:

  • High school diploma
  • Minimum 2 years of related experience (i.e., storeroom, logistics, inventory management, shipping, etc.)
  • Basic computer, data entry, documentation, and reporting skills
  • Ability to mult-task in a fast paced enviroment while maintaining composure
  • Open communication and customer service skills 


Your Purpose:

Report to the Fulfillment Manager. Deliver final products to mill or group of mills by verifying orders; inventorying stock; arranging transportation generally by truck or rail; sometimes via barge. Responsible for keeping on-time shipments and minimize backlog of shipments.


Your Work:

  • Arrange shipments by checking stock to determine inventory levels; anticipating delivery requirements; placing and expediting orders. Daily reports on items being shipped and preliminary shipment bundles have been assigned.  Coordinate arrangements for carrier to deliver steel or segment out shipments where the customer has already arranged for delivery with their own carrier.
  • Verify delivery instructions and times according to customer request.
  • Monitor availability of truck, rail and barge shipments and dispatch carriers, generate shipping documents and direct the loading of steel.
  • Negotiate freight rates with local carriers
