Your Purpose

The primary function of this position is to facilitate the establishment of a productive, high performing, and safety conscious Storeroom and Materials Planning Process.  The major areas of responsibility are to facilitate the Storeroom personnel, coordination of the Materials Planning Process, and ensuring that key functional Storeroom processes adhere to standardized GBS procedures.  Successful incumbent will be knowledgeable about maintenance and production department needs and trends, formulating short and long term objectives to ensure quality and continuity of the supply chain while minimizing total cost of ownership.  Insures quality of services and seeks input from customers and management to improve services and meet customer needs. 



What You Will Do

The Storeroom Facilitator is responsible for the training, guidance, and performance evaluation of a team of 2 – 5 Storeroom Attendants. This job is responsible for providing assistance and guidance as necessary and required in developing specifications and verification of requirements for goods and services requested. The Storeroom Facilitator will assist suppliers in supply management and direction to meet the company’s needs for goods and services, and cost containment. 


Ensure the Routine supervision of the Storeroom area or working cell.  These duties will include needs assessments, auditing, coaching, training, 5S improvements, and adherence to safety standards.  This position will also be responsible for the administration process for control standards, management standards, routine procedures, and job aids. 


Coordinate the routine materials management activities such as forecast integration, demand management, inventory management, and scheduling.  This includes reorder point and safety stock evaluation, economic order quantity evaluation, obsolescence review, re-ordering of replenishment materials, coordination of the cycle count program, and maintaining accurate inventory master data.  This position will also monitor Storeroom KPI’s and execute corrective actions to achieve desired results. 


Additional responsibilities include:


  • Facilitates all aspects of the Storeroom. Monitors staffing needs, work flow and productivity; makes recommendations to improve work processes. Ensures quality of services and products provided. Seeks input from customers and management to improve services and meet customer needs. 

  • Determines inventory requirements through the effective utilization of the ERP systems. Facilitate the routine evaluation of reorder points (ROP) and safety stock parameters to ensure inventories are in line with historical and future consumption rates and lead times. 

  • Periodically review and adjust economic order quantities (EOQ) to ensure a proper balance between ordering and carry costs. 

  • Coordinate the Cycle Count Program to maintain accurate inventory counts. Thoroughly analyze discrepancies to identify root cause and implement corrective action. 

  • Facilitate, with Maintenance and Operations, the obsolescence review and dispositioning process.  

  • Work closely with Maintenance to proactively plan material requirements for routine maintenance; including the establishment of planning bill of materials (BOM) and master scheduling of routine maintenance. 

  • Facilitate training sessions for Storeroom Attendants under a maintained training matrix on compliance standards, routine methodologies, tools, policies, procedures, and processes. 

  • Coordinate the treatment, reporting, and disposition of Non-Conforming materials. Ensure supplier performance documentation is accurately updated in a timely manner. 

  • Develop and monitor performance (KPIs) expectations, audit performance, document findings, and establish corrective action. 

  • Work directly with Manager and Mill Services/BP Buyer in an effort to continuously improve the Stores Processes. 

  • Adhere to the 5S standards for the Storeroom. 

  • Administer all safety activities. Coordinate all emergency preparedness practices, policies, and procedures. 

  • Work directly with the Manager in the development of annual action plans for Stores projects and personnel development. 




What You Have

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Economics or realted field
  • 3 + years of experience in purchasing and storerooms
  • Previous experience in shipping/warehouse operations
  • Experience in supervision and facilitation
  • Solid interpersonal and organization skills
  • Ability to prioritize workload
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Detail-oriented
  • Ability to operate storeroom equipment
  • Proficient in SAP and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Good decision making skills
  • Problem Solving skills
  • Ability to travel approximately 5% of the time
