Basic Function:

This position supports the sales & operations planning area by managing data related to the operations and resource planning process.  The consistency and accuracy of this data is pertinent to guide the integrated sales & operations plan for the whole organization related to both sales, production, procurement and logistic.

A  strong understanding of the Business Division characteristics and assumptions is required in order to continuously translate these business guidelines into system parameters and data for each planning cycle.  The incumbent will deploy analytical processes to continuously adjust and update Master Data that includes items such as customer prioritization parameters, resource constraints, transportation options, market priorities, production process changes, customer groups and product groups. From a transactional data perspective this also includesmaking adjustments to current inventory levels, sales backlog, production orders, transfer orders, sales forecast and target inventory as needed.

Nature and Scope:

The S&OP Analyst has a key role in adjusting the supply chain modeled in the planning system. Since the integrated sales & operations plan is generated by this system, the consistency, quality and feasibility of this plan is directly dependent on the quality and availability of data and the consistency of the system parameters. These system parameters must translate business guidelines and rules to the planning run, such as: product priority, market priority, resource availability, production productivity, product typology (make-to-stock/make-to-order), and product flow options.

Maintaining data consistency is relevant to the updates of product hierarchy, production routes, bill of material, transportation lanes and other key procurement and logistic systems. The S&OP Analyst will participate in business assumption meetings and pre-S&OP meetings to obtain  good visibility and understanding of business rules, characteristics and trade-offs.

Another key aspect is to guarantee the most current transactional data is available at the moment of planning. Examples of transactional data are: current inventory, current sales backlog, target inventory parameters, production plans and schedules, and transfer plans and schedules.

The incumbent will routinely work under minimal supervision planning and completing advanced analysis of sensitive data. Incumbent should have demonstrated ability to operate analytically/logically, quick to learn new skills, and communicate clearly.  Managing the inputs to the S&OP Plan is a major piece of the incumbent’s responsibility, additionally ad hoc analysis and special projects should be expected.
