Job Description

 

BASIC FUNCTION:

 

Responsible for participating in the design, planning, and implementation of training solutions for the Time, Attendance/Scheduling and Payroll Project (Kronos). The overall goal is in providing effective training programs to each location, with enough depth and persistence to ensure successful Go Lives and continuing use of the Kronos solution product.  This position will analyze training needs, in conjunction with a Change Management consultant and implement training plans and procedures, prepare training manuals and media support materials, implement technical training programs,  conduct train the trainers training courses to support the corporate-wide installation of this program.  This position will coordinate all training programs/modules and classes at all locations for the Kronos project.  Responsible for ensuring proper training facilities, materials, equipment, and training are available at each location and develop training procedures for each individual location. Conduct training programs/modules depending on the Kronos subject matter as required.

NATURE & SCOPE:

 

This position is responsible for working with the project Change Management consultant to develop a training program, to include materials, modalities, and schedules, and then coordinating the project training program. Working at the direction of project managers they will develop effective working relationships with location management and personnel, developing and tracking training in time with installation Go Lives. They will be the primary agents of training location SMEs, coaching and assisting with the development and implementation of effective training at each location to enable the competent performance of roles in this system, developing and implementing a measurement system to evaluate the effectiveness of the project training program; and developing and implementing tools to communicate training issues throughout the project management structure, for resolution.

 

This individual will also coach/mentor each location management team on effective training methods and methodologies, to support the successful Go Live and use of the Kronos system.

 

The incumbent develops and coordinates the training, documenting the process and creating materials and modalities for future use and works closely with the Corporate HR/Training Department to ensure that the process is compliant with HR GBS and is tracked in GMR.  Monitors and evaluates the training program and techniques and recommends revisions where necessary. They will initiate training changes and exercise judgment as to the introduction of changes, following PDCA principles.

 

Qualifications for this position include strong technical writing and communication skills, combined with a demonstrated ability to design and develop training materials, manuals, training aids, and media support materials utilizing desktop publishing equipment.  Media development skills include the ability to produce audio and video technical training productions.  The incumbent should possess a minimum of 5 years related work experience, particularly in the installation of IT systems with a wide base of users, in a variety of business settings with a minimum of two to fours years of specific experience in the area of technical training. Experience with Kronos 8.0 or higher is required. A minimum of a High School Diploma or GED is required however a Bachelor's degree in a related field of study is highly preferred.

 

The successful candidate should also possess an intensive knowledge of training and development methodologies and systems and the ability to develop applicable training programs as needed.

 

Leadership, judgment and excellent communication skills are essential to the success of this role, and additionally, the incumbent should possess a working knowledge of Microsoft Office Professional applications are required.

 

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

 

  1. Prepare, with consulting help, all training materials for project use and conduct training as needed, for employees, including train the trainer for Go Lives.
  2. Responsible for the development and/or acquisition of training programs/modules and the scheduling and completion of these trainings by all applicable personnel.
  3. Responsible for ensuring training facilities, materials, equipment, and training records, and develop training procedures for the project, as needed.
  4. Responsible for monitoring and measuring the effectiveness of these training programs conducted at the division.

 

The incumbent must perform the above-mentioned duties and responsibilities in accordance with all Federal, State and local environmental regulations. Employees must also report any situation which may have a detrimental impact on human health or the environment to their immediate supervisor.
