BASIC FUNCTION (Primary Purpose):
The Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) supervisor will coordinate directly VMI Analysts, and work with Sales Leadership, Sales Representatives, and Information Technology (IT) support teams to implement the VMI value proposition for customers. The VMI Supervisor acts as an SME expert regarding VMI and identifies opportunities that align to the Commercial strategy.

Support in aligning the VMI roadmap and growth strategy to the overall service strategy across the segments. Proactively analyze results compared to forecasted volumes, make recommendations for changes or improvements to VMI program to increase sales or program effectiveness. Assist in aligning customer forecast, shipment performance, backlog level and inventory consumption to create an efficient and sufficient supply to meet customer expectations. Track and monitor team KPIs.
Collaborates with the Sales to ensure service for VMI products are understood and prioritized accordingly within overall order backlog. Acts as the process expert for failures and provide overall guidance to the team on how to handle challenges. Act as liaison between business and IT for issues related to VMI program. Work closely with Forecast Managers, Fulfillment and schedulers to ensure that inventory and production reservations for VMI products are accurate, determining the cause of discrepancies and adjusting where necessary. Provide guidance to the VMI analysts regarding routine management opportunities for the customers. Guide the team on proactive routines into their day-to-day processes. Facilitate changes requested by business or customers for existing supply programs.

Analyze new VMI program proposals for qualifications and make recommendations to sales when reviewing potential customer targets for growth. Facilitate communication about VMI program to sales for prospective customers. Establish expectations with the customer and sales when reinforcing what alignment is needed to ensure a mutual success. |
Scope (brief description):
This role will supervise a team of VMI analysts for the day-to-day VMI program management.
This position will operate as an extension of sales leadership to support and execute the roadmap to grow Gerdau’s VMI program with customers across the core segments. This role collaborates with the sales team to identify opportunities and work with sales to close/onboard new customers to the VMI service. Position will also be responsible for planning and coordinating on-boarding, testing and validation of new EDI/VMI customers. Maintain support for accompanying EDI transmissions, with local team and IT.
This scope is across the existing 14 Customers, at >150,000 tons of shipments (annually) via ~5,000 active SKU/Ship-to combinations, within the VMI program and extends to new customers that may be added.

Qualifications and Educational requirement(s):
Minimum 2 or more years of Sales, Marketing, Data Analytics, Fulfillment, and/or Supply Chain experience and a four-year degree from an accredited college or university (or equivalent additional experience)
Preferred experience in the following industries (not required): 1. Steel, 2. Metals Manufacturing, 3. Commodities pertaining to the Steel Industry, 4. Metals Distribution/Service Centers, 5. General Manufacturing (industrial, car).
Preferred degree in the following areas (not required): 1. Business with Sales and Marketing emphasis, 2. Information Systems, 3. Supply Chain
Minimal travel is required –estimated at 2 to 4 overnights annually
Use of predictive tools will be required in addition to leveraging the existing data available in SAP/SEP/eGerdau, Marketing and external data sources, and Power BI visualizations.
