The HRIS Analyst is responsible for Human Resource Information Systems within the Employee Services Department and is a subject matter expert. Responsibilities include identifying opportunities and implementing programs to improve the effectiveness of processes and systems; taking ownership for high data integrity through regular audits; troubleshooting  irregularities; partnering with IT to research and correct discrepancies and ensure compliance. Additionally, the HRIS Analyst will perform a variety of research activities and supports multiple functions in order to develop and support strategic initiatives. The HRIS Analyst reports to the HRIS Supervisor, for the Shared Services Group-US

This position requires a Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, Computer Science, or related field and a minimum of 3-5 years of experience with Human Resource Information Systems and or related operational experience. Intermediate to advanced proficiency in office productivity software is required. Experience working for a global company and knowledge of SAP is preferred. 


Additionally, the HRIS Analyst requires a clear and thorough understanding of implementation and maintenance for Enterprise Resource Planning systems (ERP), including employee master data, employee payroll data, ERP processes, time and attendance system processes, company policies, and union Collective Bargaining Agreements (CBA), as well as, strong analytical judgment and decision making skills.


The role identifies and responds to obstacles and/or challenges, handles multiple tasks and projects, thinks creatively, problem solving, communicates effectively, and has a working knowledge of various employee service systems and applicability. An important function is to develop strong relationships with internal business areas to ensure dependencies are met, data transfers are established, and business needs are met across multi-dimensional departments and business units.



The HRIS Analyst position should be experienced/ knowledgeable in the following areas:

  • Application development and support; Project Life Cycle methodologies.
  • Analytical and research skills with a demonstrated ability to identify problems and systematically gather data, identify root causes and address data integrity issues.
  • Supporting software system enhancements, implementations, and upgrades
  • Supporting business acquisitions and divestitures
  • Preparing business process flows and desk procedures/documentation
  • Creating test plans, test scripts, and executing system/user testing
  • Writing and troubleshooting simple and complex reports

Principal Responsibilities:

  • Ensures business requirements from internal and external business groups are met.
  • Supports the business groups and operating partners in early needs assessment and project sizing.
  • Supports/participates on project teams for upgrades, new applications/modules, data loads, requirement gathering, business process review, project management, testing, documentation, communication, etc.
  • Champions change management, project management, and collaborates for best practices across supported business groups.
  • Ensures data integrity through management of data and effective data processing guidelines. Develops, documents, and implements new and revised processes to improve data integrity and promotes the consistent use of confidentiality.
  • Assignments are broad in nature, usually requiring originality and ingenuity
  • Reviews progress and evaluates results.
  • Proactively identifies and recommends process improvement and customer service opportunities.
  • Develops, maintains, analyzes and supports reports of varying complexities utilizing appropriate reporting tools.
  • Identifies, evaluates, and resolves data anomalies by running reports and performing analysis on selected information.
  • Interacts with leaders, supervisors, and teams to complete necessary data management required for data processing and auditing (ex:  Metrics Reports).
  • Supports initiatives related to research, evaluation, recommendation and implementation of system improvements; including new software/systems.
  • Maintains a high-degree of confidentiality relative to personnel data and other information maintained in information systems.
  • Serves as a liaison/resource for team members, staff and vendor representatives to resolve issues and perform information gathering.
  • Develops/maintains standard work processes, user procedures, guidelines, and documentation.
  • Assists in the training of new staff on systems and related procedures.
  • Supports annual programs and initiatives by performing associated/assigned tasks.
  • Ensures Service Level Agreements (SLA’s) and Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) are met for the Employee Data Management (EDM) team and recorded on a monthly/quarterly basis, suggesting improvements when necessary.
