FP&A Financial Analyst

You Have:

  • A four-year college degree in Finance or Accounting combined with a minimum of 1-3 years of experience in Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) or similar finance role.
  • Experience with annual budgeting process, short and mid-term financial forecasting preferably in an integrated financial forecasting software tool, SAP Analytics Cloud is a plus.
  • Possess solid process and project management skills combined with exceptional interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Possess ability to understand and work independently with all areas of the company:
    • Pricing/Profitability/Volume Analysis (supporting Commercial)
    • Cost Analysis (supporting Operations and S&OP)
    • Location/Operational Analysis (supporting Mills, Downstream, & Metals Recycling)
    • Working Capital Analysis (supporting Inventory management, Credit & Accounts Payable)
    • Location CAPEX Analysis (supporting Engineering)
  • Experience analyzing data and trends, with strong attention to detail, to develop financial models and improve reporting.
  • Self-driven and highly motivated, who can thrive in ambiguity, work under pressure, and meet tight deadlines.
  • Knowledge of building reports and automating processes utilizing Microsoft Power Platform and Office tools (Power BI, Power Automate, PowerPoint, Excel, etc…).
  • Experience using SAP ERP, SAP BI, and other SAP products is a plus
  • Knowledge of and/or desire to learn SQL, Python, or other data analytics languages is a plus.
  • Experience with manufacturing company is a plus.

Your Purpose:

You will report directly to the FP&A Manager.  You will be responsible for supporting Gerdau’s North American forecasting responsibilities within a newly designed and implemented financial forecasting software tool.  You will coordinate and complete various parts of the budgeting and forecasting processes, building rapport with all business units within the company.  You will be a key contributor to various ad-hoc finance projects and creating executive level presentations.  You will always be pursuing continuous improvement, working to automate and enhance reporting while bringing actionable analysis to all areas of the business.  This is an exciting position where innovation and new ideas with attention to detail and understanding of the business come together to add value to the company and leadership team.


Your Work:

  • Prepare and review segments of the monthly reporting package including but not limited to:
    • Revenue and volume analytics
    • Cost analytics
    • Operational KPI reporting
    • Financial KPI reporting
  • Administrative functions for integrated forecasting software tool including but not limited to:
    • User management
    • Master data updates
    • Loading actual and assumption data
    • Training end-users
    • Recommend and coordinate updates to forecast model
  • Support business unit management with financial or budget questions and requests.
  • Assist in the preparation of executive presentations to be used by senior leadership.
  • Create and coordinate solutions to improve FP&A processes to reduce time needed to prepare forecasts.
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement across the organization.
  • Assist FP&A Lead Analyst with quarterly peer review process.
  • Stay informed of leading external indicators that could impact the business.
  • Ad-hoc projects as needed
