DATA ARCHITECTURE AND ENGINEERING MGR

Basic Function: 

The Data Architecture and Engineering Manager plays a pivotal role in our data and analytics team, responsible for overseeing the design, implementation, and optimization of our data architecture and engineering processes. This role reports to the Data and Analytics Senior Manager, collaborating closely with IT, Infrastructure, and Security teams to ensure alignment with company objectives. 

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:  

• Lead a team of data engineers and contractors in the development and maintenance of data pipelines, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of data to support business needs. 

• Serve as the owner of the single source of truth for the division, ensuring data accuracy, consistency, and integrity across all data sources. 

• Orchestrate new requirements with our Analytical data layer, collaborating with business stakeholders to understand their needs and translating them into actionable data solutions. 

• Design and implement data architecture solutions that primarily leverage Databricks, with a strong focus on scalability, reliability, and performance. 

• Collaborate with IT, Infrastructure, and Security teams to align data architecture solutions with company infrastructure and security requirements. 

• Oversee the migration of analytics databases to Databricks, ensuring seamless transition and optimization of data workflows. 

• Interact with multiple departments across the organization, serving as a strategic partner to support their data and analytics needs. 

• Maintain regular communication and collaboration with headquarters in Brazil, participating in weekly meetings to ensure alignment and coordination of data initiatives. 

Supervisory Responsibilities & Reporting Structure: 

• Supervises who (level and number):  2 data engineers and 2 contractors 

• Reports to:  Data and Analytics Senior Manager 

Qualifications and Educational requirement(s): 

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field; Master's degree preferred. 

• 10-15 years of experience

• Proven experience in data architecture, engineering, and management roles, preferably in a manufacturing environment. 

• Strong proficiency in SAP, with experience working with SAP tables and Z tables. 

• Expertise in Databricks for data processing and ELT processes. 

• Familiarity with HANA for real-time data access and PostgreSQL for ETL processes. 

• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments and with international teams. 

• Proficiency in Portuguese is recommended due to regular interaction with headquarters in Brazil. 

• Leadership experience, with the ability to manage a team of direct reports and contractors.
