We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Health and Safety Manager to join our team. As a Safety and Health Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing and ensuring the implementation of safety and health protocols and procedures in our organization. This is a critical role that requires exceptional attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate will play a key role in creating and maintaining a safe and healthy working environment for our employees.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement health and safety policies and procedures
  • Conduct regular inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and areas for improvement
  • Ensure compliance with applicable health and safety regulations and standards
  • Provide training and education on health and safety procedures to employees
  • Investigate accidents and incidents and develop strategies to prevent reoccurrence
  • Collaborate with management to develop and implement risk management strategies
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of health and safety regulations and best practices
  • Ensure that all necessary permits and licenses are obtained and maintained
  • Coordinate emergency response activities and develop emergency preparedness plans
  • Conduct regular safety meetings and communicate safety updates to staff
  • Manage relationships with external health and safety agencies and vendors

Requirements

  • Degree or certificate in occupational safety and health, environmental science, or a related field
  • Proven experience in a safety and health management role
  • In-depth knowledge of safety and health regulations and standards
  • Knowledge of industrial hygiene
  • Demonstrated experience with WCB processes and return to work programs
  • Previous experience in a 7/24 Manufacturing environment
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Detail-oriented and highly organized
  • Certification in occupational safety and health (e.g., CSP, CRSP) is preferred
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite and safety management software
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
  • Exceptional leadership skills and the ability to mentor and train staff
