HOW WILL YOU CREATE AT GERDAU?

This position will collaborate with Rolling Mill Maintenance Engineer, Reliability Engineers, Planners, and department Leadership in ensuring the efficiency and effectiveness of all aspects within Rolling Mill Maintenance specifically in regards to Hydraulics. The major role of this job is to focus on the integration, execution, and continuous improvement of the Reliability Practices including preventive/predictive inspections, spare parts management, failure treatment, maintenance planning/scheduling/execution and act as a change agent to help achieve a higher level of results in Rolling Mill Maintenance.  The incumbent requires the ability to diagnose technical problems and serve as a coach to employees. The incumbent should possess good interpersonal and organizational skills.  The incumbent must possess good communication skills, have the ability to articulate ideas, provide feedback, resolve conflicts, and point out areas where improvement is needed

Position Requirements:

  • 5+years experience in Rolling Mill Maintenance.
  • Subject Matter Expert in hydraulics maintenance.
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering, or equivalent experience with the preference given to Hydraulics, Mechanical,  or Manufacturing Engineering.
  • Experience leading or coordinating hourly employees & contractors.
  • Experience with Equipment Reliability Process and Practices.
  • Strong time management skills and ability to adjust to shifting priorities

  • Demonstrated history of being hands on shop floor approach.
  • Ability to lead, influence and drive change.
  • Ability to coach and train Operational, Maintenance and Leaders.
  • Cross-cultural understanding and ability to understand different working culture and practices.
  • Must have solid interpersonal skills, and be able to work collaboratively and constructively in a dynamic and changing work environment.
  • Willingness to work non-routine work schedule.
  • Must have excellent communication skills and fluency in English; clear and concise verbal and written skills.
