Job Summary

Perform diversified installation, maintenance and repair operations, as assigned to maintain the physical plant, mill machinery, equipment, and auxiliaries in proper operating condition.  Work involves the assignment to mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and fluid repairs as well as new installations, under direction and/or working with Master or Technical Maintenance Mechanics to diagnose the discrepancy and plan the installation procedure.

 

Duties & Responsibilities

1. Receive direction and work order instructions from facilitator for Routine Procedures, Preventative, Predictive and Corrective Maintenance.
2. Maintain, adjust, or repair rolling mill equipment, lift trucks, air compressor and controls, various machine tools, air and hydraulic connectors, overhead doors and various other plant related equipment.
3. Refer major repairs and installations to facilitator for assistance from outside vendor or higher classified maintenance personnel.
4. Perform ordinary arc and oxyacetylene welding and brazing as related to maintenance requirements.
5. Periodically inspect conditions of plant machinery and equipment for preventative maintenance purposes.
6. Maintain records of work performed, details of repairs, and material usage.

 

Qualifications:

High School Diploma or GED

  • Requires working knowledge of machines, controls, hydraulics, pneumatics, and basic knowledge of electrical and electronic controls.
  • Prefer candidates with hydraulic experience and welding skills (welding certification desirable but not required).
