Qualifications Required:

  • A four-year college degree in Engineering, combined with up to 3 years of maintenance and reliability experience OR 5+ years of combined maintenance, reliability, and supervisory experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Knowledge of asset reliability technology, systems, predictive maintenance with a working knowledge of heavy manufacturing. Steel manufacturing experience is preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of engineering concepts, and techniques.
  • Ability to develop and lead a team of Reliability Specialists and Maintenance Planners.
  • Ability to resolve problems and manage projects effectively.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with associates at all levels within the organization.
  • Flexibility to be on-call
  • Ability to travel some for training and to support projects in other locations.


Your Purpose:

You will provide leadership and technical coordination for local Asset Reliability Processes (ARP) implementation and improvement focused on improving safety, equipment reliability, and product quality at optimum efficiency and cost. You will collaborate with maintenance, engineering, and operations on asset reliability processes.  


Your Work:

  • Collect and analyze equipment repair history, costs, and repetitive repairs to develop and implement proactive repair planning.
  • Report asset performance and work with teams to implement methods to improve performance and sustain existing efficiencies.
  • Develop solutions and provide recommendations for major equipment modifications, renovations, installations, additions, and replacements to facilitate continuous improvement.
  • Lead planning and scheduling standard processes to effectively execute all down-days and outages.
  • Lead ARP assessments to evaluate ARP practice effectiveness and develop improvement plans.
  • Collaborate with operations, maintenance, engineering, and reliability personnel to ensure the reliability of equipment on all existing and new assets.
  • Participate in technical studies on equipment and develop corrective action plans to maximize availability and reliability.
  • Facilitate training sessions and assist in identification of skill development needs for plant personnel and contractors to support ARP, maintenance, and safety.
  • Identify critical equipment spares, material and component needs while coordinating with maintenance, procurement, and stores to optimize re-order processes/quantities to minimize downtime.
  • Participate in Failure Analysis on maintenance issues.
  • Participate in Annual Action Planning process and budget development
  • Lead the identification of potential failures using predictive technologies.    
  • Study operations and failures to improve equipment reliability and energy efficiency. 
  • Ensure the integrity of the Computer Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
