You will focus on continuous improvement projects and integration of improvement principles, technical and engineering principles, identifying best practices, and act as a change agent to help achieve a higher level of results utilizing and implementing improvement processes. You will be in an advisory capacity in material manufacturing processes with no direct reports. 


  • Identify and solve chronic/repetitive problems and failures as well as reduce process variation.
  • Design new and revamp existing structures, systems, and equipment.
  • Provide support in implementation, maintenance, and project management.
  • Facilitate training sessions for all employees on the improvement methodologies, tools, policies, practices, and processes.
  • Collaborate with Mill Management on improvement standards, CAPEX standards, audits, 5S initiatives, failure analysis, results management, QIS, FA, 6 Sigma, and other process improvement methodologies.
  • Assist with the development of the Annual Action Plan
  • Prepare and approve standards from CAPEX and improvement initiatives
  • Implement and coordinate CAPEX projects, and Annual Action Plan Improvement Projects which includes accurate cost estimates.




  • BS degree in Electrical Engineering or Material Science.
  • 3 to 7 years experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment with exposure to standardization and production quality methods.
  • Advanced working knowledge of steel manufacturing methods and techniques involving the use of heavy mill machinery and related equipment.
  • Previous experience in electrical / automation is a must.
  • Experience in scrap processing, melting, casting, rolling, maintenance, finishing, shipping/warehouse operations, and supervisory/facilitation arepreferred.
  • Advanced knowledge of business systems and the use of complex technical and engineering processes.
  • Ability to train people and serve as a coach to employees with solid presentation abilities combined with good interpersonal and organizational skills.
