Your Qualifications:

  • AS degree in Mechanical, Engineering, or Electrical Technologies OR GED/ High School diploma AND Professional certificate in Asset Reliability.

  • Active CAT I Vibration Analysis Certificate is required.

  • A minimum of 3 years of predictive maintenance experience.

  • A working knowledge of heavy manufacturing, with at least 5 years hands-on-experience in Predictive Maintenance as an Instrument Technician, Electrician or Mechanic.  

  • Initiative to stay abreast of current technology and recommending changes to effect continual improvement of production processes. 

  • Strong motivation to implement new technologies, champion predictive maintenance efforts, solve complex problems, possess project management skills and computer skills in order to improve reliability of mill operations. 

  • Ability to effectively communicate with a variety of personalities and interests to manage the interests of all parties while creating and modifying work procedures and equipment without compromise to safety, quality, cost or environment.

  • Ability to work Monday through Friday day shift. May be required to be on-call and must have high availability depending on the requirement of the operation or project being managed.

  • Must be able to able to travel 5% of the time.

 

Your Purpose:

You will be responsible for both performance and analysis of condition-based maintenance surveys of electrical, mechanical and process equipment utilizing Predictive Methods. 

 

Your Work:

  • Perform condition based maintenance surveys on plant equipment using vibration, thermography, MCE, visual inspections, airborne, ultrasound and other techniques/technologies as appropriate.

  • Prepare written reports to document inspections and recommendations for preventive actions.

  • Support the training of maintenance and operations personnel in basic predictive practices.
  • Create Failure Modes Evaluation Analysis (FMEA) and predictive matrix using historical and current equipment data.
  • Develop maintenance plans and tasks that ensure a proactive process using the Computer Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).

  • Manage predictive work using a formal, systematic, and analytical approach.
  • Develop PdM routes and perform predictive services that facilitate continuous improvement through new condition monitoring and innovative approaches to production processes.
  • Apply predictive technologies to solve operational problems and implement permanent solutions.
  • Obtain and maintain a minimum Level II certification in vibration analysis and thermography: Level II certification and ultrasound along with an advanced MCE certificate.
  • Lead major failure incident investigations in area of responsibility as required.
  • Maintain test equipment and tools in a clean, safe, and functional condition at all times.
  • Approve and/or develop procedures and practices to use testing equipment such as laser alignment, balancing devices, etc.
  • Participate in the development of Annual Action Plans.
  • Ensure safety rules and requirements are followed in all work areas.
  • Monitor and report Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to support ARP assessment and improvement.
