$61300 / year which includes biweekly production bonus, shift premium, and scheduled overtime.

You Have: 

  • Successful completion of entrance exam.
  • General math knowldege, advanced problem-solving and ability to multi-task.
  • Experience with using charts, schedules, and touchscreens.
  • Experience with using adjustable controls in regulating a continuous process and interpreting measuring instruments and gauges.
  • 1-2 years of experience in manufacturing.
  • Ability and willingness to work as part of a self-directed team with limited supervision. 
  • Ability to work a 12 hr rotating shift schedule, including days, nights, and two weekends a month.

 

Your Purpose:

You will be tagging of steel bars with proper identification and ensuring the product conforms to specifications. You will log production-related data in a computer system.

 

Your Work:

  • Use a computer to print tags with product information, and manually place tags on bars. Ensure proper bundle disposition, i.e., piece count and heat separation.
  • May inspect bar quality for surface defects and to ensure conformance to specifications.
  • May assist in changing rolls on the straightener or saw.
  • When applicable, operate a band saw to line up and cut bars to specifications; obtain a sample for Product Control Operator and Quality Engineering Department to measure conformance to specifications or line up and cut the finished product to specifications.    
  • Process scrap.
  • Production related data entry or record keeping.
  • Perform routine equipment care, records, and inspection on vehicles and mobile equipment, which may include fueling, cleaning, and checking/adding fluids as needed.
  • Operate overhead cranes to transfer products or materials.
  • Assist in training of coworkers as needed.
  • Maintain communication with coworkers through two-way radio and hand signals.
  • Maintain work areas and equipment in a clean and orderly condition.
