As a division of Gerdau, Gerdau Special Steel North America (GSN) produces high quality engineered carbon and alloy SBQ steel bars for safety critical applications used by the automotive, commercial vehicle, construction, agricultural, distribution and energy markets. With three special steel producing mills and a heat treating facility strategically located throughout the United States, Gerdau is capable of providing solutions for the most demanding applications.




To maintain an accurate and just in time finished product inventory.




Customer Services




Primary responsibilities include:  Maintain customer inventory reports daily. Expediting material following customer due date and working through Sales and Metallurgy Departments and outside processors.


This job reports directly to the Production Control Supervisor and indirectly to the Customer Service Manager.  This job requires a high school diploma or equivalent with strong organizational, verbal, and written communication skills.




  1. Responsible for maintaining customer inventory reports daily.


  1. Expediting material following customer due date and working through Sales and Met. Department and outside processors


  1. Responsible for coordinating test reports and appointments.


  1. Responsible for scheduling trucks for material delivery.


  1. Responsible for tracking production to ensure bar counts, lengths and weights are entered in to the AS400 system correctly.


  1. Observe and follow all general and departmental safety rules and regulations.


  1. Must follow the Cardinal Safety Rules.


  1. Clean up or assist in clean up of material spills. Spill containment and response.


  1. Responsible for and completing all required annual safety and environmental training.


  1. Employee is expected to know, understand, and follow all applicable Federal, State, and Local environmental legal requirements and practices.


  1. Utilization of EMM and GBS concepts.


The incumbent is responsible for his/her safety as well as his/her colleagues, seeking continuous improvement related to employee’s health and safety, environment and the process efficiency and customer’s satisfaction with the quality of products and services. All efforts must be directed for preventive actions.
