The PCI Analyst is responsible for supporting the Capex Engineering Process with planning, evaluating, and reporting capital investments that are active or proposed. The PCI Analyst will provide financial and CAPEX engineering process support by reviewing and approving all documents submitted by project coordinators (i.e. Engineers and Engineering Manager) within the CAPEX engineering process. The PCI Analyst is responsible for coordinating the administration of the Gerdau Investment Management System. This support will require strong interaction with all project coordinators, accounting, and procurement to assure proper recording of commitments and spending, as well as processing spending approvals for projects and within the department.




PCI Analysts are advisory and will not have direct reports. The PCI Analyst will have direct responsibility for reviewing preliminary project studies, approving project proposals for consideration as well as ensuring project proposals include all necessary support and comply with the Gerdau justification standards. They will be responsible for validating invoices with project coordinators and entering this data in the Enterprise Project Management (EPM) software as well as entering and maintaining the project cost estimates and spending in SAP.  The PCI Analyst is also responsible for various engineering reports for KPI results from the portfolio, based on the business unit and the mill.


A degree from an accredited institution in Business Administration, Accounting, Economic or Engineering is required, and previous experience in CapEx planning and control is a plus.  A specialty in accounting, finance and/or project management is strongly preferred.  The PCI Analyst should have knowledge of project management principles (such as Six Sigma), familiarity of IT tools (MS-Project, Power-BI and MS-Office), and excellent communications skills, both verbal and written.   



The PCI Analyst will:

  • Support the Manager on the implementation of the Engineering Action Plan
  • Support the Manager on the general management of investment
  • Support the team on the development of the CAPEX Plan
  • Support the coordinators on the development of technical studies of feasibility
  • Carry out financial control of investment
  • Support the team of the use of the project management tools
  • Develop report of investment management
  • Support the team on the performance evaluation of investment
  • Calculate the Engineering performance KPIs
