Solar Pile Midlothian Shift Lead Operator

The Solar Pile Shift Lead Operator is responsible for providing efficient and good solar pile products with short lead times and minimal downtime to the SPM operations. This position Shift Lead oversees solar pile production processes with minimal supervision. This position will be a Shift Lead Operator in a highly automated process line with the ability to produce over 100,000 tons of solar pile yearly.
Prinicpal Accountabiities:
Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner.
Ability to ensure 5S is being maintained and used throughout the facility.
Assist the Automation and Maintenance technicians with troubleshooting.
Oversee the dailey operations of the team during their assigned shift.
Ensure that all tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.
Conduct Passdown with oncoming and outgoing Shift Lead.
Ability to read and interpret a production schedule for on time production.
Assist with physical inventory recording and reporting.
Assist with the implementation of plant safety programs to become familar with the procedures necessary for safety and loss control.
Communicate and works well with the other Solar Pile Operators, Logisticss and Maintenance personnel.
Ability to work overtime, nights and weekends and fill in where needed.
Capable of operating overhead crane and forklifts.
Follow Solar Pile operating schedule as directed by supervision.
Assist in the development and improvement of Solar Pile operating practices.
Work with Routine Facilitator to maximize Solar Pile operating practices.
Run Optimal SKU recipes and follow quality practices to ensure quality requirements.
Follow all quality sampling practices and other sampling requirements as directed by supervision.
Maintain housekeeping and safe work environment standards by following 5S.
Areas of operations include but not limited to, banding, saw blade requirement, visual inspections, refiling tags, robot operations, disposing of scrap, tagging, painting.
Follow ISO policies and practices to strive zero defects, customer satisfaction and continous improvement.
Handling and movement of materials within, and out of the work area.
Assit with rework process following standards provided.
Must be proficient with computers.
Automation experience preferred.
Ability to help cross-train operators and helpers to learn all facets of the process.
Abide by safety policies, operators preventative maintenance, and housekeeping practices.
Ensure quality specifications of the product as prescribed.
Accurately complete process and quality documentation as prescribed.
Education or Equivalent:
High School diploma or GED
3+ years of revelant work experience
Forklift and Crane certification
Skills:
Programmable Logic Controller and mechanical skills.
Very good verbal communications skills.
Leadership skills and ability to make safe and sound decisions.
Foster and maintain a positive work environment.
Prior experience in a leadership role.
