Job Responsibilities:

 

  1. Coordinates and works with transport carriers to schedule outbound appointment times using given guidelines.
  2. Inputs scheduled time into schedule management system.
  3. Communicates and addresses customer service failures by carriers as a result of scheduling or failures meeting customer’s requests.
  4. Monitors truck schedule and adjusts as directed.
  5. Tracks performance of carriers in reference to appointment times, delivery schedules, equipment types, safety, etc.
  6. Assists truck drivers during check in and check out procedures.
  7. Assists Team Leader and loading operators research material to resolve shipment issues.
  8. Researches and inputs entries for carrier freight payments.
  9. Researches and approves carrier retention time.
  10. Maintain shipping records and reports on a daily basis and weekly basis.
  11. Responsible for ordering all related forms and supplies.
  12. Responsible for stocking printers daily and entering service requests as needed.
  13. Miscellaneous tasks-scanning documents, create labels using label maker, enter gate passes, laminate documents as needed.
  14. Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.

 

Environment:    Variable (Potentially 95% indoors)

 

Physical Requirements:

 

  • Ability to tolerate prolonged sitting or standing.
  • Ability to type using both hands.
  • Reach, squat, bend from trunk, and carry objects.
  • Lift/carry supplies of various dimensions and weights.
  • Push/pull.

 

Personal Protective Equipment:

 

Required when working in plant: Hard hat with chin strap, metatarsal steel toe boots, hearing and eye protection, and gloves.

 

Requirements/Skills:

 

  • High level of administrative experience.
  • Bilingual

 

  • Maintain high level of knowledge of TXDOT and VDOT Regulations.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • PC skills including working with complex spreadsheets and a database environment.
  • Ability to coordinate multiple tasks.
  • Ability to work with representatives of several departments and outside vendors.
  • Complete product knowledge.
  • Strong problem-solving and auditing skills.
  • Self-motivated, goal-oriented individual displaying attributes of ingenuity, creativity, and self-confidence.
  • Competent operating normal office equipment – copiers, fax machines, etc.
