Hours: Monday - Friday, 7a- 3p (Flexible) 

 

 

Job Summary:

 

Work involves a variety of hands-on maintenance and repair tasks, including plumbing, basic electrical, carpentry, and general facility upkeep. The Maintenance Facilities Technician provides operational support to ensure equipment, work areas, and building systems remain safe, functional, and efficient. This role also assists with routine equipment care, safely handling materials, and supporting plant operations and housekeeping efforts as directed.

 

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

 

  • Perform general facility maintenance, including plumbing, electrical, and carpentry repairs.
  • Inspect, diagnose, and repair leaks in pipes, valves, and plumbing fixtures.
  • Install, maintain, and replace faucets, sinks, toilets, urinals, and other plumbing fixtures.
  • Perform routine inspection and maintenance of water supply and drainage systems.
  • Clear clogged drains, toilets, and sewer lines using appropriate tools and methods.
  • Assist in the installation or rerouting of water or drainage lines during facility renovations or equipment moves.
  • Conduct preventive maintenance on plumbing systems and perform regular checks on backflow preventers.
  • Support plant operations by assisting with general housekeeping and material handling tasks.
  • Stock and organize general supplies for maintenance, safety, and production needs.
  • Operate mobile equipment (forklift, scissor lift, etc.) to transport materials or access elevated work areas.
  • Perform preventive maintenance tasks on facility systems and assist with minor construction or facility improvement projects.
  • Collaborate with maintenance and operations teams to minimize downtime related to plumbing or facility issues.
  • Document all maintenance activities, repairs, and parts usage accurately.
  • Assist with special projects, equipment installation, and other maintenance-related tasks as assigned.

 

 

Additional Responsibilities:

 

  • Perform daily preventative maintenance on tools, vehicles, and mobile equipment, including cleaning, fueling, and fluid checks.
  • Adhere to all PPE requirements, safety rules, and company guidelines for all tasks performed.
  • Maintain clear communication with coworkers and supervisors through two-way radios and hand signals.
  • Work as part of a self-directed team, demonstrating reliability and initiative with limited supervision.
  • Keep all work areas, tools, and equipment clean, organized, and in safe working condition.
  • Support maintenance personnel and other departments as needed for plant and facility upkeep.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

 

Education/Experience:

 

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 1–3 years of experience in maintenance, facilities, or manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Demonstrated plumbing experience (commercial or industrial) required, basic electrical or mechanical knowledge a plus.
  • Basic computer and math skills.

 

Physical Requirements:

 

  1. Ability to climb stairs and ladders, reach overhead, balance, bend, crawl, kneel, and tolerate prolonged standing/walking.
  2. Ability to lift and carry up to 70 lbs.
  3. Ability to operate hand and power tools safely.
  4. Ability to operate mobile equipment using hand and foot controls.
  5. Ability to work in various environmental conditions (heat, cold, noise, dust, etc.).
  6. Ability to work in confined spaces and at elevated heights.
  7. Ability to work flexible or rotating shift schedules, including nights and weekends, as needed.
  8. Must pass an applicable “fit-for-duty” exam.
