The responsibilities of this position pertain to the accuracy of managing maintenance costs and/or project budgets.  Also resposnbile for the financial information and  maintenance of internal controls.  The Cost Analyst will review day to day transactions, including inventory, purchasing of goods and services, and ensuring accuracy and adherence to company policies and procedures.  The Cost Analyst will also provide support to operations for the SAP system (or other systems), perform internal control audits and develop action plans.  This position reports directly to the Manager of ARP and will work closely with other maitenance leaders and Finance.            


Primary responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring all transactions are recorded in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles, including inventories, operating expenses, and capital expenditures.
  • Auditing and reporting on internal controls.
  • Generating and analyzing routine monthly and weekly reports.

  1. Responsible for the accuracy, timeliness and completeness of  financial transactions including but not limited to, inventories, production, shipping, sales, and purchasing.


  1. Coordinate and periodically participate in monthly physical inventory counts.


  1. Prepares monthly production reports and analyze inventory valuations.


  1. Reviews inventory transactions for completeness and accuracy.


  1. Reviews general ledger activity and prepares adjusting journal entries.


  1. Performs account reconciliations, including cash held at the locations.


  1. Prepares routine financial reports.


  1. Coordinates preparation of monthly performance forecasts.


  1. Analyzes variances of actual results from budget and forecast.
  2. Assists with annual budget preparation.


  1. Leads or assists with special projects as required.




This Cost Analyst should possess a bachelors degree or diploma in accounting, with preference given to candiates who are actively pursuing an accounting designation.  The incumbent should have at least 3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, and be proficient with various types of computer software programs including Microsoft’s Office Suite (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint) and financial software. The incumbent should also have knowledge of industrial  cost models, preferably with experience in managing maintenance costs or project budgets.
