Your purpose:
To provide technical coordination and support by initiating and running projects using the capital expense (CAPEX) project process, equipment monitoring, stabilization and improvements. This position is primarily responsible for developing, refining, and communicating the strategies and engineering information needed to optimize productivity and capital projects while ensuring the efficient and cost effective production of the final product.
- The CAPEX Engineer / Project Manager must have excellent communication skills, the ability to articulate ideas, detail oriented, and be comfortable with leading associates at all levels within the organization. The Project Manager will also, at times, participate in the technical development of others in the department. The Project Manager will be responsible temporarily directing a team assigned to the project for the duration of the project. Team size will vary and is dependent on project (3-25+ people).
- Domestic and Overseas Travel may be required. Frequency and duration of travel is dependent on the project requirements.
- This position reports directly to the Engineering Manager and will be located in Midlothian, Texas.

- Project Planning
- Utilize Project Teams to Define the Information for Projects
- Prepare Technical Studies for CAPEX Project Plans
- Scope of Work Definition and Implementation Planning
- Schedule for Project
- Project Cost and Benefit Analysis
- Preliminary Studies for Project Planning (PS)
- Submit Selected Project Plans for Approval of Investment (PAI)
- Drawing and Document Management for Projects
- Project Closure (AVI)
- Project Audit (API) and responsible for project deliverables.
- Project Implementation
- Completely Responsible of Project Scope, Schedule and Budget
- Utilize Project Team's Skills for a Successful Project
- Approve Design of Equipment, Facilities and Processes
- Develop Technical Bid Packages for Equipment Fabrication
- Develop Technical Bid Packages for Facility and Utilities
- Selection of Equipment and Construction Companies to perform works
- Coordinate with Procurement to issue Purchase Orders and Contracts
- Work with Operations to Modify Processes Impacted by Project
- Manage Contracts with OEM’s, Consultants, Contractors to:
- Installation of Equipment, Facilities and Utilities
- Commissioning of Equipment, Facilities and Utilities
- Verify and Report Project Function, Quality and Benefits
- Finalization of Project Documentation and Drawings
- Capex Portfolio Planning
- Coordinate with Operations on Short and Long Term Project Needs
- Organize Project Priorities by Criticality and Benefit Calculations
- Investigate New Technologies and Best Practices and Incorporate into Project Plans
- Participate in the preparation of Capex Plans for Departments
- Provide Technical Support for Operations
- Work closely with operational areas on process/equipment improvements
- Actively involved in Safety Teams and Improvements
- Trouble Shooting of Existing Equipment and Processes
- Coordination of Schedules During Outage Periods
- Implement Best Practices
- Assist with the Annual Action Planning
- Managing Team Members assigned
- Approving the selection process for qualified team members for each project.
- Develop project plans that identify resource and budgetary needs
- Host regular project meetings with team and stakeholders
- Provide feedback, advice, project updates and encouragement to team members
- Manage deadlines and push the team to ensure timeliness
- Manage and direct team members with assigned work packages
- Responsible for the project deliverables (Benefits, KPIs, Budget, Schedule, etc..) and the assignment with team members and stakeholders
- Leadership qualities, such as motivation techniques and conflict-management
- Time management skills, especially familiarity with calendar management and goal setting
Your background:
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering
- Industrial Experience
- Specialist in at least (1) Engineering Field
- Strong Knowledge with Project Management Institute (PMI) framework, (PMP Certification - optional)
- Understanding of Independent Project Analysis (IPA) framework
- Understanding of Association for the Advancement of Cost Engineers (AACE International)
- Exceptional budgeting and risk management skills
- Strong time management skills
- Leadership qualities, such as motivation techniques and conflict-management
- Knowledgeable in Industrial Safety and Construction Methods
- Efficient in all Microsoft software such as Teams, MS Project Schedule, Excel, PowerPoint etc…
- Proficient in 2D/3D drawing CAD software such as AutoCad, NaviWorks, etc..
