This position will be responsible for hiring talent to meet the resource needs of the organization as well as improving the overall company talent profile through internal and external recruitment, talent analysis, data management, and innovative sourcing. As well as assist in the administration of HR processes.
NATURE AND SCOPE:
- Consults with management on strategic and current staffing needs; helps management identify hiring priorities and ensures timely hiring for open positions
- Determines applicant qualifications by interviewing applicants; analyzing responses; comparing qualifications to job requirements.
- Recruits, screens resumes and interviews candidates for open positions.
- Oversees the administration of assessments/tests, test procedures, and gathers background and reference checks.
- Arranges management interviews by coordinating schedules.
- Follows up with candidates and hiring managers to obtain feedback regarding the recruiting process.
- Manages requisition and candidate related activity in the applicant tracking system (ATS).
- Builds applicant sources by researching and contacting community services, colleges, employment agencies, recruiters, media, and internet sites; providing organization information, opportunities, and benefits; making presentations; maintaining rapport
- Ensures pertinent legal and regulatory compliance in practices, reporting, and documentation of all recruitment, interviewing, and hiring activities.
- Accomplishes human resources and organization mission by completing related results as needed
- Seeks diversity recruitment sources and candidates to strengthen the company’s workforce.
- Manages internal transfer process, including screening, coordination of interviews with hiring manager, transfer offer letters, etc.
- Follows up with candidates and hiring managers to obtain feedback regarding recruiting process.
- Travel as required to mill locations, recruitment events and activities.
- Performs other duties and special projects as requested by management.
- Maintains memberships and affiliations with trade/professional organizations related to industry.
- Identifies recruiting opportunities such as career fairs, online job fairs, community network events, etc., to identify new candidate pools and enhance the quality of applicants.
- Develops advertising programs (internal and external) to ensure high visibility with potential candidates.
- Analyzes reports and trends of recruiting sources (colleges, industries, cultures) to identify top talent acquisition sources and most successful areas.
- Partnering with Organizational Development, assists internal recruitment efforts to identify internal talent pools and incentivize top talent.
- Advises management when internal recruitment opportunities exist.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in relevant field of study (e.g.,human resources, business adminstration).
- Must have at least 1-3 years of experience in a human resources or recruiting-related field where at least 6 months are devoted to recruiting.
- Strong interpersonal, networking and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.
- Solid business acumen and the ability to work independently
- Solid research, analysis and problem solving skills.
- Flexibility to handle multiple projects and high volume of work
- Commitment to customer service and ability to work in team oriented environment.
- Experience with MS Office tools.
- Ability to lead change.
- Participate as a contributing team member in projects involving cross department stakeholders.
- Ability to work with diverse candidates and maintain effective work relationships with executives, corporate and line management.
- Experience managing vendors and working with applicant tracking systems (ATS).
- This is in office position to be based out of Jackson, MI or Monroe, MI
