Job Description


The Internal Logistics Coordinator position performs a variety of inventory and warehousing functions to support Mill Logistics operations with respect to inventory control and storage management. This role has an emphasis on continuity between physical conditions and data records. 


Duties & Responsibilities


1. Plan storage of inbound material to be received from the Rolling Mill.

2. Maintain accuracy of physical storage locations vs. system reference locations.

3. Maintain cycle count calendar and all related cycle count documentation.

4. Perform product cycle counts to ensure inventory accuracy, communicate discrepancies needing corrected, and perform corrections once approved.

5. Maintain records for inventory adjustments to satisfy record keeping for accounting.

6. Communicate cycle count results to Mill Accounting and assist with quarterly SOX Controlled Self Assessment (CSA) requirements and internal/external audits.

7. Communicate with Production Scheduler to ensure product availability for off-line processing.

8. Validate product movements and ‘return to storage’ locations for off-line processed material.

9. Maintain interim zones within SAP and resolve associated errors.

10. Update/maintain list of valid storage bin locations and resolve invalid bin location errors.

11. Monitor inventory aging, identify slow moving/stagnant product, and communicate rotation needs to loading crews.

12. Identify stored product quality issues and address through re-work or inventory scrap request.

13. Identify, retag, and regrade materials including cutting samples and coordinating testing with QC.

14. Assist in rework or repackaging of bundles for shipment or special customer request including assistance with restacking and banding.



The Individual


  • Associates Degree Preferred.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in inventory management is required.
  • High level of computer proficiency, software & computer applications absolutely essential for this position including Excel applications and preferably SAP.
  • Able to perform and prioritize a variety of analytical tasks with minimum supervision.
  • Strong attention to detail especially as it relates to spreadsheets, data-entry, data analysis, numbers, inventory management, etc.
  • Requires strong analytical & troubleshooting skills as well as strong interpersonal and communication skills.  
  • Previous experience performing data-entry, data analysis, inventory control, report preparation and accounting/bookkeeping related activities preferred.
