Inside Sales Representative

Responsible for selling existing and/or introducing new products and services to established clients for a specific product in a specified geographical territory.  The customers communicate with the Account Specialist to request orders, quotations, and lead times by fax, telephone, and/or email.  Build quotations on standard products, write orders and communicate pertinent information to customers.  Additional duties involve tracking and following up on the leads the organization generates based on the Sales Representative efforts.

 

This position is closest to the customer and is responsible for building new relationships as well as sales activities pertaining to sales order receipt, product delivery, product pricing, order management, invoice claims, credit memorandums and customer problem resolution in their assigned territory. This position is also responsible for proactive activities that generate new orders and high levels of customer satisfaction.

 

 

Duties & Responsibilities

 

This position is responsible for maintaining a good working relationship with existing and potential customers, resolving or assisting in resolving customer complaints to the mutual satisfaction of both Gerdau and the customer, obtaining information on competitive activities, being alert to market or product changes.  As directed, make some customer calls with various sales personnel to enhance customer relations.  Incumbent must take ownership of customer knowledge and listening in order to maintain a pro-active approach to customer needs.

 

 

The Individual

 

  • Associate’s degree in related field or minimum 3 years of office experience.
  • Requires the ability to work in fast-paced, self-directed environment.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, including excellent telephone sales personality skills.
  • Excellent customer service skills. 
  • Exposure to steel industry sales preferred.
  • Requires decision making, problem resolution, and creative thinking skills.
