BASIC FUNCTION:

The Business Development Manager will drive the organization toward the most strategic markets, applications and new potential value-added business in order to maximize profitability, differentiate GSN from competition with an increased product portfolio, and enhance the long-term sustainability of the business.

 

Overall SBQ market will change dramatically with the megatrends that are directing the automotive industry into autonomous, electric drive. This role will offer the organization alternatives to cope with this challenge by steering our current portfolio of business into a future portfolio aligned to the new market reality. Looking further downstream is a clear expectation for this position.  These efforts will align GSN capability to the market and improve overall product mix by developing differentiated value propositions, and elaborate pricing for value activities.

NATURE AND SCOPE:

This position reports directly to the Marketing Director. 

 

Qualifications for this position include a minimum of 15 years of experience in the field of strategic marketing and steel. Previous experiences with M&A, Product Development and Pricing are welcome and will be strong qualifiers.  Bachelor’s degree is required, preferably in Engineering, Marketing, Business, or relevant technical discipline. MBA degree is also desired.  Incumbent must demonstrate skills and knowledge of qualitative and quantitative problem-solving techniques as well as the ability to create and present business cases. Collaborative communication skills and ability to communicate with all business areas at various levels are necessary.   

 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Direct the organization toward strategic markets, applications and new potential value-added business in order to maximize profitability, differentiate GSN from competition, and enhance the long-term sustainability of the business.
  • Direct business development opportunities in value added process and acquisition of tangent businesses. 
  • Support the Strategic Roadmap and PEX processes with market demand analysis, end market changes and trends, insights into competitor direction and capabilities.
  • Establish effective price-for-value strategies and promotions to grow the business in the product areas.
  • Support product integrated marketing plans
  • In depth knowledge of product attributes and applications.
  • Deep understanding of our competitiveness relative to next best alternatives.
  • Develop and execute product line roadmap and strategy including product portfolio and Strategic Pricing. 
  • Internalize our differentiated value propositions translating into strategies and tactics for the various parts of the organization (production, S&OP, sales, logistics, etc.).
  • Interface with GNext and support their activities in the search of new revenue streams and expansion of our core business.
