This person will diagnose, adjust, repair, and maintain trucks and trailers. This includes engines, transmission, axles, brakes, and electronics, hydraulic pumps & cylinders, A/C as well as emission systems. Welding may be required from time to time. Also performing road service repairs on trucks & trailers.

 

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Knowledge of mechanics of hydraulics, mechanical equipment
  • Diagnose and repair units brought in for repairs.
  • Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance and repairs in order to ensure the safe continuing operations of equipment.
  • Test repaired equipment for proper performance
  • Clean, lubricate and perform other maintenance work
  • Keep detailed and accurate maintenance reports and documentation
  • Ensure all shop tools are used and stored properly
  • Record parts and equipment utilized on the repair order, and ensure the Service Coordinator is aware of stock taken.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area
  • Other mechanical repair work as required.

 

The Individual

  • High School Diploma or GED is preferred but not required.
  • Must have a 310T license. 
  • The candidate must have his/her own set of tools. 
  • Must possess a valid G license. 
  • Cooperative attitude, team player, with a willingness to learn.
  • Physical effort and dexterity is required, lifting up to 50 pounds, including service-related tools.
  • Experience with maintenance, inspection, diagnosis, and repair of electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake and air systems on vehicles and equipment.
  • Ability to work independently in a busy environment.
  • Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.
  • Able to work well under pressure.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Must contribute to the maintenance of a clean, safe and environmentally sound facility.
