You Have:

  • A bachelor’s degree in safety, industrial hygiene, engineering, or other appropriate technical discipline. 
  • 5 to 7 years’ safety experience (manufacturing environment preferred).
  • Ability to solve problems
  • Excellent communication skills to influence, and communicate ideas to effect change in behaviors.  
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications are required.
  • Eagerness for staying abreast of new technologies and current trends to make recommendations that help improve and refine the safety process.


Your Purpose:

You will be responsible for implementing and sustaining loss prevention and control systems, as they relate to health and safety, and providing technical support for improvement efforts.  The Safety Specialist II will assist management with the development of a safety management system aimed at preventing and controlling losses. The Safety Specialist II reports directly to the Safety Manager.  


Your Work:

  • Assist management with the development and implementation of the safety management system.
  • Provide effective professional health and safety guidance and programs to improve the industrial health and safety of all employees. 
  • Identify and report performance measurements to evaluate the effectiveness of the safety management system. 
  • Assist with the development and implementation of a communication system to communicate health and safety issues throughout the organization.
  • Implement, coordinate, and direct safety training programs at the location.
  • Oversee routine management practices for health and safety programs.
  • Coordinate, direct, and oversee safety compliance and remediation efforts.
  • Possess excellent communication skills, to including working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
  • Stay abreast of new technologies and current trends to make recommendations that help improve and refine the safety process.
  • Assist in the development and management of the annual action plan.
