You Have:
- HS Diploma or GED plus minimum of 3 years of Rail Logistics experience in industry standards and broad understanding of all freight modes.
- Strong Communicator to enable frequent internal interaction with Product Managers, Shipping Supervisors, Shipping Clerks, Yard Services, Accounting, Purchasing.
- Organized and focused in order to maintain constant communication with logistics providers (railroads) to manage rail operations and monitor carrier performance.
- Must be proficient in MS Office (Outlook, Excel, and Word) and have ability to work within accounting program (SAP) and rail system (Rail Inc, Tratics)
- Deal with stresses of a fast paced environment in order to cope with demands of position
- Must be detail oriented and possess high level of accuracy in record keeping regards the accounting function.
Your Purpose:
Responsible for Rail logistics function for inbound/outbound freight for Metals Recycling group in a cost efficient, organized and solutions oriented manner. Responsible for all Recycling rail freight inbound/outbound freight invoices, audit of rail freight, securing/publishing rail rates, creating rail job aids, supporting Mill rail shipments, & looking for rail savings. This position will report directly to the Rail Logistics Analyst.
Your Work:
- Track/monitor all inbound/outbound car loads: prepare report, track data and troubleshoot problems
- Working to develop KPI’s and monitor monthly
- Track/monitor all outbound carloads: prepare accurate daily tracking report, track data and troubleshoot problems, maintain correct patterns in EDI systems and enter rail bills into CN/CP
- Determine empty inbound car needs with Sales, order cars, and liaise with railway to secure empties, track and record data.
- Coordinate rail loading releases with Shipping, priorities vs. equipment availability.
- Process all rail invoices (inbound and outbound), includes account coding, entry into SAP system and final audits to release payment batches,
- Audit all rail invoices against SAP & Rail Sites for incorrect invoices/problems and correct as required.
