What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business, or related field.
  • 3–5 years of HR experience, in a manufacturing setting.
  • Comfortable in high-temperature, high-noise environments — steel-toed boots required!
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office; PHR/SPHR certification is a plus.

Your Mission

As an HR Generalist at Gerdau, you’ll be the go-to partner for our frontline teams and leadership. You’ll help drive employee engagement, ensure compliance, and support the full employee lifecycle — all while navigating the unique challenges of a rugged industrial environment.

What You’ll Do

  • Be a People Champion: Support recruitment, onboarding, and employee relations.
  • Drive Engagement: Organize events and initiatives that build morale and connection.
  • Support Development: Coordinate training, performance reviews, and succession planning.
  • Ensure Compliance: Keep us aligned with federal and state employment laws and maintain accurate personnel records.
  • Maintain Compensation: Administer wage and salary policies; and respond to employee questions related to Compensation plans and programs.
  • Have a Voice in Goal Setting: Recommend new approaches, policies, and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of department and services performed.
  • Communicate with Impact: Translate policies and programs into clear, actionable messages.
  • Be a Trusted Advisor: Guide leaders through employee issues with empathy and expertise.
