BASIC FUNCTION:

 

Provide day to day analysis and reporting of product quality on Rolling Mill or Melt Shop.

3.       Annual Production             300,000-3 million tons

 

NATURE AND SCOPE:

 

Primary responsibilities include:  Coordinate Quality aspects of a production area including claim and loss analysis and reporting, calibration of equipments, quality tests confirmation and document control

 

This position reports to Quality Assurance Manager. This job requires a minimum of 2 years experience in industrial environment with an Associate Degree in Metallurgy or similar preferred.

 

The incumbent must be able to work in a fast pace production environment focused on safety and have proficiency in computer software applications including Microsoft Office programs. SAP experience is a plus.

 

The Quality Coordinator is responsible for daily quality routine of checking production schedule, auditing product quality and approve test results.

 

The Quality Coordinator will be required to analyze the data from collection samples and identify anomalies and inconsistencies in product quality based on the data. The individual is accountable for identifying appropriate corrective measures and necessary escalation to the Routine Facilitator and/or Quality Assurance Manager based on analysis. 

 

This position may be required to perform additional duties as assigned.

 

The incumbent is required to perform all of the above responsibilities in accordance with all applicable laws and polices. The incumbent is required to perform these duties with the highest prudence and regard to safety of health, human life and the environment.

 

The incumbent is responsible for his/her safety as well as his/her colleagues, seeking continuous improvement related to employee’s health and safety, environment and process efficiency and customer’s satisfaction with the quality of products and services. All efforts must be directed for preventive actions.

 

 

  • Shift work: Will be 12 hour shifts, rotating shift schedule between days and nights
  • Education: high school minimum but degree in metallurgy or similar is preferred 
  • Must have at least 2 years' experience in industrial environment
