The Storeroom Attendant position is primarily responsible for receiving, shipping and inventory control in the mill storeroom.


RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to:


  • Follow plant rules, safe job instructions, safety rules and regulations
  • Responsible for receiving, storing and transporting items properly
  • Look up process code information in CMMS using various means of searching database
  • Assist plant personnel in Spare, Capital and General Mill items, log and track stock as it comes in and goes out in appropriate logs
  • Stock process code items into appropriate bin locations and assign bin locations to new items
  • Maintain accurate records of the remaining/issuing amounts, types, value of the parts, material, equipment and/or stock on hand
  • Follow the housekeeping schedule to insure bins, isles and floors are cleaned
  • Generate reports from systems as required
  • Implement ordering/expediting process for items that are stocked out
  • Be proficient at operating a forklift, including daily inspection of equipment
  • Be proficient at using computer applications
  • Other duties as requested




  • Must be able to work a rotating shift and overtime
  • Must have good mechanical ability and reasoning
  • Must be able to read, write, and speak in English and perform basic mathematical calculations
  • Must be able to operate a forklift and become forklift certified
  • Prior warehouse and/or inventory experience is preferred, but not required
  • Physical requirements include: Ability to push, pull, lift, carry and handle no less than 50 pounds frequently; ability to stoop, crawl, reach, bend and kneel as required
  • Valid and current Virginia Drivers License
